So I'm taking the vette for a spin the other day and can't believe that they have (what appears to be anyway) re-surfaced the road at some recent stage. Get back home and have a horror attack. All this grit and Sh#t is attached to the wheels and when I spray underneath the car, tons of grit, black muck and stuff comes streaming off......
Next day, noticed that the tires look discolored. a sort of two-tone affect. Get a brush and this black gung comes off,(bloody tar no doubt) but when it dries out, still leaves wavy brown marks, as if the tires look dirty. So I'm left with a beautiful Zainoed car with filthy looking tires. I am using Black magic tire wet(which others here have recced) to compensate, even though I hear that later on, this could cause browning anyway(so I'm back to where I started from ) but would appreciate your comments with what I should be using to get rid of the underlying problem, but trust me, I have scrubbed away and nothing is happening?
use the foam on them. If that doesnt work go pick up some professional tire shine (the milky white stuff, thicker than armorall I forget what it is called).
Same thing happened to my family car. I called the town and found out the contractor that did the work and they paid $300 to have the car cleaned and detailed. I will say that a good grease and wax remover (autobody supply quality) carry
Get a good tire cleaner (I use simple green) scrub em good - let em dry and finish with your favorite protectant.
But a better idea would be to open Wicked's Can on them
Recommend you stram clean the underside Too.
Un the up side - people used to pay $50-100 30 yrs ago to have their new cars undercoated with tar. Not necessary adds weight and makes it tough working under the car.
