By just showing up and being polite, the speed was reduced to 60 mph with no points and no insurance reporting. Was that worth it??? You bet!

Fight it!!!! They don't like when you pead not guilty and will usually cut you a break..I got caught doing 53 in a 35 zone...Met the cop before the trial..He let me plead to 40 in a 35 zone..A fine with NO POINTS!!

Ok, this sounds great..but did you just simply walk up to him and say...Good morning Officer, Like the suit and whats that great aftershave your wearing? by the way...give me a break!! Did you recognize him, or ask to see if the officer was there by asking the clerk(as you knew his name as it was written on the ticket)...................Would like to know more details, as this sort of luck never happens to me. I have now been to driving School 3 times and you are only allowed 5 in a lifetime(OMG). I just can't go slow in the Vette..I don't go mad either, never had an accident or caused one and drive responsibly..but with 400Horses, I can't piddle about either, otherwise I would have brought a Donkey but when your time is up, it's up, whether you are doing 40 in a 30 or 85 in 70. Just unlucky I guess and it's making me nervous. Last ticket 2 months ago, done by a plane..now I go to look for the lines on the road and then drive with my head up in the air!!!

Then there was another poster who mentioned that one should 3 weeks before the trial, try and get the date changed(understand this fully), but did I read this right when you went on to say that the Court venue should be also changed, perhaps 2 hours away? Now why on earth would they allow this to occurr?

The ticket itself isn't the big deal. But, if you go to court, you may get fewer (or no) points; nothing to lose by trying...
