I know this is something that has been discussed before, but as a brand new owner I have to ask all of you is this something that just takes a little time to get used to? I never had rear view distortion in my C4 or C5. It is so noticeable to me, looking through the rear view mirror the view through the hatch window almost looks like those distorted mirrors you see in arcades. Clarity is terrible, total view is wavy and blurry. Before all of you ask, I don't have the auto dimming mirror as I have the 1SA package and I don't have any window tint and the window is clean on both sides. The windows compound curves aren't so different than on the C5, but the C5 was totally clear. I don't get it...
We all have some distortion, but it would be worth your while to get it checked at the dealer. My C5 had distortion in the windshield and they replaced it under warranty. I suggest that if you know anyone else whos has a C6 that you compare them.
Some degree of distortion is considered normal on all C6 coupes. What you're describing seems to be worse than what I see in my own rear window. I get some "waviness" but nothing like the blurring you're decribing. Is the distortion just as bad when viewed directly...not through the rear view mirror? I wonder if the mirror might have some didtortion in it that's aggravating the inherent distortion in the rear window. You should have your dealer look at it to determine if it's really a defect.
