Default Question about window tint

I've never had aftermarket window tint put on any of my cars. I pick up my Mag Red C6 this week and since it has the ebony interior I feel I'll need it. I know I'll put 35% on the back window, but has anyone just put 50% or no tint on side windows? My wife is wondering if 35% on the side windows would be to dark. What's everyone's else experience? Should I put 35% on back & sides? Thanks.

35 is definitely not too dark for the sides. I'll be getting 15 on the back and 35 on the sides.

35 is a good choice, and legal in most places.

depends on the state you live in... in CA were no side tint is allowed - 15 or 35 would be asking for trouble

I have 20% on the rear and 35% on the sides. No way is any of this too dark. I recommend the 20% on the rear if you have the nav system. It will eliminate a lot of glare on the screen. You can check a few tint manufacturer web sites for darkness legality in your state.

A few years ago, C5ers experienced problems tinting the rear windows of coupes. I don't remember the exact issue, but think it had to do with the contour of the window or something.

So, there is no problems tinting the the C6 Coupe rear window?

I live in CA and have a convertible 35% in back and 45% on windows. The windows look a little too dark to me -- especially in CA were NO tint is allowed. However, I think a coupe would not appear as dark because you are getting more light in from the back.

If you want tinting , get it. But if you are getting it because of the Ebony interior, forget it, I live in Central Fla, have Black on Ebony and my AC will freeze your azz off.

Thanks for everyones responses. I live in Tennessee and the law says nothing darker than 35% on back & sides. Sounds like I'll go 35% all around.

You don't see much mention of it, but there is a definite safety issue when you go so dark, that other drivers can't see you through the side windows.
In AZ where I don't think there's any restriction, I've seen/heard about accidents and many near misses because of this.
Just something to consider....

I put F1 Pinnacle 35% on the sides and back of my coupe with ebony interior. It's not too dark and I'm very pleased. I was thinking about going to 15% on the back but I'm glad I have the same all around. It looks stock and that's what I prefer. You won't be dissappointed with 35%.

If you do much night driving, even 35% is pretty dark. My pickup has 35% tint, and I have to roll the windows down to see via the side mirrors when backing up at night, the inside mirror is useless. That decided me not to tint the Corvette's windows, since at least 50% of my driving is at night. I'd rather crank the A/C up a little higher and be able to see all around me when driving.
