Help with Interior Squeaks!!!
I have a z51 Coupe with about 1200 miles on it. (Just over a month old). Last Saturday afternoon, I was off playing some tennis. It was a very hot afternoon here in Austin, TX and unfortunately I couldn't find any shade for the car. When I got back in the car and drove off, there was a very audible rubber squeaking noise coming from above and behind me. This noise is loud enough to be heard over the radio set at normal volume and is annoying as all hell. I'm pretty sure it's coming from the hatchback seals (since I had the roof off the next day and it still made the sound). The noise has persisted and is very very very annoying.
My theory is that seals dried out in the heat of the afternoon and need some silicone lubricant. Can any of you guys suggest a product? Or alternatively, should I take the car to a dealership and have them look at it (if so, can you please suggest a dlr in the Austin area... I took courtesy delivery at Champion Chevy and wasn't 100% impressed with them). I'm starting to miss my Porsche 911 (I had a similar problem with it but at least I wouldn't have to worry about the service at the dealership).
