Right front blinker on the fritz
Took it apart last week (PITA), bulb tested fine. Put it back, jiggled the connector & it started working again. Now its out again.

Same happened here. Took to dealer and they ordered a new bulb. Replaced fours months ago no problems since.

<sigh> I really don't want to deal with service & lose the car for a day (or more). I will try to spread the contacts within the plug tonight.
I just feel really stupid driving around in a nice car with a signal out...
Thanks for the tips.

Same problem here. And it's just the right front bulb. So I'll have the bulbs replaced with my next service visit in a couple of weeks.

Same problem here, intermittent, so I don't think it is the bulb.
Replacing bulbs tomorrow with the Sylvania Silverstar bulbs while installing matte black grille screen.
I have been googling for an hour, trying to track down service bulletin # 05-08-42-009 that was referenced by a forum member for this problem.
Can't find it. Any of you web wizards find it, let me know.
Service dept at Hendrick's Chevrolet in Fresno could not find it, so would be nice to have a print out of it when I go in for warranty service if the bulb replacement doesn't fix it.

Took the assembly apart again this evening. Bulb is fine. Pried the connectors open, and discovered the bulb seems loose when inserted one way, but not another. If it acts up again I will take it to the dealer; its definitely the plug design. <sigh>.

Service VME - Front Turn Signal Bulb Inoperative At times - keywords lamp light signal turn #PIC3540 - (May 10, 2005)
Service VME - Front Turn Signal Bulb Inoperative At Times
2005 Chevrolet Corvette
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in the PI.
SERVICE VME:
This is a service VME to all Chevrolet dealer regarding 2005 Corvettes with front turn signal bulbs that may be intermittently inoperative.
There have been field comments that the front turn signal bulbs may not illuminate. Dealers report the condition is intermittent and replacing the bulb does not correct the condition.
The root cause may be a loss of contact between the base of the bulb and socket. Bowling Green Assembly switched bulb suppliers from Wagner to Sylvania. The Sylvania bulbs operate at a significantly lower temperature which may increase bulb life. If a customer has a front turn signal bulb inoperative, the dealers should follow the procedure in SI and remove the bulb. The bulb should be checked for operation off of the vehicle using a 12 volt power source. If the bulb is found to be inoperative, replace the bulb using a Sylvania source. If the bulb is found to operate out of the socket then dealer should attempt to slightly pull the socket connectors forward to provide a better contact with the bulb. If after extending the socket contact forward and the bulb still does not operate Please contact Art Spong Brand Quality Manager at 586-947-8890. DO not order a replacement headlamp assembly before working with Art Spong.
A service harness is being prepared for SPO and should be available shortly.
Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
GM bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, NOT a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform these technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions, and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, DO NOT assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See your GM dealer for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.

Even though I spread the connectors the last time, mine is out again. I'll go back in this weekend and try to figure out exactly which part of the connector is not fitting the bulb. I have a new Sylvania bulb that I didn't use the first time, I'll put the mic on it too.

Just installed Syvania Silverstar replacements on both sides.
Drivers side was a bear to get out, harness too short.
Tweaked the contacts in the connector a tad with a dental pick, all functions working ATM - will post again in a few weeks.
I did notice that the factory installed bulbs run VERY hot based on blackening of the plastic connector base on BOTH sides. At least on my low VIN number 176.

Thanks for the service bulletin post. Mine is in the shop right now for this problem and last I heard they were trying to determine the cause. I will tell them about the bulletin Monday in case they haven't already found it.
