Default Uncoated Headers: Anyone Have Problems?

Kinda tech, but looking to reach a broader constituency:

Any folks out there that are running NON-COATED HEADERS, and have problems? Melted fuel rail covers, coils, etc.?

I'm throwing a set of DynaTech's on, & John from DynaTech told me that coating wasn't really necessary for heat considerations, but more for appearance. We're debating it's efficacy over in C6 tech.

I'm curious if the folks that are already running un-coated headers are developing any issues.

It's approximately 30 days to send them out to Jet Hot for coating (and I'm NOT waiting 30 days). Are there alteratives to Jet Coating for heat sheilding purposes?

Well, if they were coated, it might have saved three C6's from burning up, Dynatech said bad installs. Not only does coating reduce temps, it increases scavenging for more power, and keeps the headers looking new.

The DynaTech "Flambe'" issue was discussed here, and appears to be resolved (with the Clutch Slave Line Clamp). Common sense dictates that wires/hoses/etc. should be routed or tied off away from making contact with hot pipes. Forewarned is forearmed.

We're discussing the merits of hot coating over in Tech. The purpose of my question is more of the thrust of it folks that ARE running un-coated headers are experiencing any issue with them.

I wouldn't do another set of headers unless they were coated.... the drop in the temperature was significant. The appearance improvement was secondary but nice also...

just my 2 cents

The real jump in heat shielding is supposed to come from coating inside the header.
