Just curious why someone would buy a 2005 model year this late in the production cycle? Discounts, I guess!

Yeah, and why July or June, that's almost August. Come to think of it, April and May are only a month so so away as well. I knew I screwed up, should have ordered an 08 for September 05 delivery, then I would beat them at their game.

Maybe they don't like the new changes?
Maybe they want to pay a premium for an automatic for the next model.

I bought my C6 at the end of May.

Got the Hot Button ($), got a great deal ($$), got a great trade ($$$), and got a Corvette that I will likely keep for a long, long, long time.

My car will remain "current" for another 6 or 7 years.

The sophomore year of any series, C1 through C5, has never been that much of a milestone anyway.

Better deal on the 05 vehicle which saves'em a few $$$, they dont like the Ford Aerostar Van new steering wheels, They dont like the Ping Pong paddles on the Automatic, they get to drive now.

Oh, I LOVE the "Wart" antenna on the deck lid and I perfer the A4 auto tranny to the "high speed", thumb shifting way of drag racing(with automatics). Plus, the first year a great body style and one of the last Mag Red verts made too. Shall I go on.....?

Ordred car in March 05. Took 5 months. 05 vs 06 not an issue for me plus improvements were made along the way so why not.

$4500 off plus I got to order the configuration the way I wanted; why wait? I want to drive now (well, in 2-3 weeks when it arrives)!

Seriously, felt that it was going to be the last opportunity to get out of my C5 with anything resembling decent trade in value . C5 values are probably going to drop like a rock within the next few months.

Got a very good trade in allowance on my C5 and there is no doubt in my mind that I would not have done as well on it by waiting another several months to a year.
