Default Rock chip to cracked windshield!

Has anyone experienced replacing a windshield as of yet? I called the usual glass company that I deal with. He is having a hard time getting a HUD/NAV windshield. Are these hard to come by? Also, is $1500-1600 about right for these? Thanks for any and all help!

Price sounds good. Availability is scarce. I know our service department has been waiting on one for a while.

Ask your dealer's parts department to perform a part locator search. If another dealer has one is stock, it could be shipped to your dealer.

I just had mine replaced yesterday by Safelite Glass, the vendor that my insurance company (Hartford) uses. They did a great job. I have zero deductible, so I didn't have to pay anything, but I asked the guy how much the windshield cost, and he said $900+. I have HUD and OnStar, but not NAV.

It was interesting to watch the replacement process. It's not as difficult as you might think, but special tools are definitely required.
They did have some trouble getting the windshield -- ordered it through the local Chevy dealer and had to wait a little over a week for it.

1500.00 is way out of line!!

The GM windshield for C6 with GPS and HUD retails for 886.20 and your cost thru us is 664.70 . They are on very limited availability from GM though.

Just another reason I didn't get the HUD and didn't want a fully optioned Corvette more fancy stuff I didn't need.
