The dealer is right, you must have the high performance option-not the Z51

What is the last 8 digits of your VIN number? I can look up the option codes on that car, I have a friend at a dealer that can check the GM system. You can private message it or post it here.

I don't know for Bahrein, but here in the Netherlands Z51 is orderd as standard... The standard suspension is too soft.. so only choice to upgrade to magnetic ride. This is the full Z51 package.. and not only the brakes...!

As for the non-Z51 - I assume you are NOT the original owner?
It is possible someone swapped out the rotors for drilled ones, but not likely since the calipers would have to be changed too. I would tend to think you do have Z51 and the dealer doesn't know squat. Check the codes in the glove box.

But yes, as many people here has already mentioned, the EASIEST way tell from a Z51 is the Crossed Drilled Rotors.

Perhaps get on Chevrolet's website and enter your vin. You might be able to get a build sheet with all the options. Not sure if Chevrolet has one... maybe under the My Chevy link on their site...

Wouldn't it be easier to pop the lid and look for the steering, trans and eng oil coolers? Trying to figure out sway bar diameters and caliper size sounds a little iffy.

Ways to tell you're Z-51 in 10 easy steps:
1. Cross drilled rotors
2. Sound from rotors
3. Dust from rotors
4. Backward rotors
See also:
5. Balding tires
6. More oil required (oil coolers)
7. Back is tired (rough ride)
May include:
8. Cheese and Wine
9. Z-51 emblem/sign
10. Gearshift whine
Please advise, sounds like mine.
