Thanks for the responses. A 30 min charge and started right up.
Maintained my seat settings and radio stations. Lost the clock and strangest, it lost the average mileage. Started the average mileage calculations all over again.
Went through all the settings I could think of and they were all OK except for the above. Looking for some commonality to help troubleshoot a possible problem.
Remember you must place in reverse and apply the brake prior to shutting down. When I first got mine I had a bad habit of backing into the garage, shutting it down and then putting it in reverse resulting in DBS. Once I stopped shutting down first, never had DBS again. Several times car has sat for 3 weeks, no problem starting....of course this would be if you have a MN6

There's no reason you can't shut the car off and then shift to R. The DIC tells you to "Shift to Reverse," and the message goes off when you do.

A little off topic since the original post here could have been a DBS episode with the car properly in reverse but... I've done that before with no problem (shut down in first, then shifted to "R" and got out). The car won't even let you open the door if it isn't in reverse unless you override it with the unlock button. I found this out yesterday when I got home. Backed up too far in the garage and pulled forward, forgetting to shift to R. When I went to open the door, I knew something was wrong right away because the door release button didn't open the door. Looked at the dash and got the big "Shift to Reverse" message. Shifted to R and everything shut down immediately and the door release worked. Between that and all the chimes and horn honking, I really don't see how anyone could miss parking this thing in reverse... yet it still happens.

I thought the same thing, until I did it two weeks ago. Had the car running and the door open while cleaning it. Shut the car off while cleaning, and got out without putting it in reverse. The door was open the whole time... :o

I've got it, maybe this is the answer! Disable the unlock button on the door panel and cut the cable on the manual door release so there is no way you can get out of the car without putting it in reverse!
I find that sometimes I turn on one of the lights on the inside mirror accidently when adjusting the mirror...With these buttons, in is off, and out is on.....

Actually, I think the trigger is the e-brake. I've had the car in reverse, but had a tough time getting out. When I checked the brake, it was off. As soon as I pulled it on, the seat moved to exit mode and the interior lights came on.
For the record, I've been working in the technology field for about 12 years and this car had me baffled for a week when I first got it. First time I've read the manual in a long time.
This is according to GM. I haven't had the battery go dead one time since I began fillowing this procedure..........Your choice, just offering what worked for me and again this came directly from GM.......
