I am new to the forum and had a question since I will be joining the club soon..... I have on order a 2006 Black 6 speed Coupe with Z51 Package and Competition painted wheels for my only options...I ordered it about 2 weeks ago from Jack Cauley...(one of the biggest corvette dealerships around Michigan) This is my first order and first vette so I have no idea how the order process goes...All I know is they will start making them in the first weeke of September ...So does anyone have any idea when I will get it ?? thanks
Check out the allocation process in FAQ and then ask your dealer if they have an allocation for your Corvette. If not I would cancel the order and find a Forum dealer with an allocation available. There have been members on this forum that have waited 6 months and more for and allocation when other dealer's can order the car with a 5 or 6 week delivery time. Good luck.
No, the problem is that they need a good allocation to get a reasonable build date. If their allocation is small, it may not get picked up for several months.

I used a Forum dealer and went from order to delivery in 48 days for 2005 C6. Obviously 2006 could take longer depending on your configuration, but Forum dealers deliver!

Jack Cauley should have a pretty good allocation. If not, Al Serra in Flint has several allocations left for 06's - you can talk with Todd - TJ for short there if things don't go well. I ordered my Silver z51 6spd from them - about 5 weeks from order to delivery.
Once you have a order number you can email Kevin Tarrence at the factory or there is a forum sponsor you can email as well who maintains a list of order numbers and TPW times.
Takes a while to get a tpm. So dealer not having it right away doesn't mean your order isn't processing. Once it does actually start down the processing path it is relatively quick it just seems to take forever. You do need the time to rest your smile muscles since you will be using them a lot after delivery.
All 06s are 6 speeds, autos and manuals. Assume you're refering to the manual tranny.
Funny how that factoid is going to make a sea-change in our short-hand:
used to be able to say "six-speed" in almost any context, and people knew what you meant.
Now we definitely have to move the old'stick or auto? out of the storage locker.
I have more than a passing interest in this subject, since the reason I drove my ol' beat up truck to work today unstead of a shiney new C6 is a mistake in getting that particular message clearly to the dealer.... supposedly we are back on track....

Did you not know about Les Stanford the #2 Corvette dealer in the nation located in Dearborn Mi? I can put your order into production TODAY providing no constraints hold up your order. Give me a call.
I have the same car on order, black 6-speed Z-51. There are constraints on Z-51 and 6-speeds are in limited supply. No telling when we'll get our cars!
