I might call this the first problem (in very small letters) with my C6...kept reading the posts about the AC problems...ranging from no AC the ''to full-some-none'.. I was experiencing the 'full to some to none' type. With the help of you others who posted info I began to track the AC fluctuations on my Vette... well the magic number was 84 deg air temp (outside)...below that temp AC functioned fine...go above and the 'full to some to none' cycle started. Conclusion: line pressures in the refrigerant lines become higher in hotter temps (common knowledge concerning AC systems) so I made an appointment with Koons Chev (Tysons Corner Va)...took it in this morning and presented my hypothesis to a great service advisor. To wit...AC fluctuations occur at temps at 83+ degs = higher refrigerant line pressures therefore with a combo of 1.4 lbs refrig (instead of 1.0 lbs now prescribed) and/or defective AC PS the system went into a 'safe mode' disengaging the AC compressor (otherwords so as not to over pressurize and in a sense 'blow up') Service advisor listened and wrote accordingly. Well 3 hours later got call...come and pick up MR BLU...AC fixed. Service ticket: replace AC pressure switch (AC PS) and reduced charge to 1.0 lbs
Well besides the satisfaction of having diagnosed the problem exactly and having my Vette back in 3 hours I have AC that will freeze whatever appendage you want off So with all the negative service department posts I give Koons Chev service a big and yes the 'dedicated only Vette senior tech' worked on my car.
All's well the ends well

Bummer that you had the problem to start with, but glad you got it taken care of without too much pain & strain. There are some pretty good service departments here and there. Ours seems to be excellent on attitude, just slightly better than good on results.
