Default Monterey Red

Do any of you C6 folks have a photo or two of a C6 in Monterey Red? The dealership where I bought my C5 last September is getting or has a MR coupe in stock and we are going back and forth on a trade of my 04 C5 for the MR C6? Also, is it worth the move from a C5 to a C6? I just hit 3,000 miles on my C5 yesterday. My wife isn't buying into this potential trade! Gee, that's a shocker! Thanks! Dan

3,000 miles? I can certainly understand why she isn't buying into it!!

There are several posts on Monterey Red - here are a couple from a quick search.

Yeah, dude, he's right. If she's not insanely in love with Monterey Red, or some other little feature the C5 doesn't have, you are T - O - A - S - T. You could try this: "But, dear, you get YOUR own personal FOB...and, look, it even remembers YOUR seat settings, YOUR mirror adjustments, and YOUR radio stations!". Of course, getting her out of it so you can drive will be a battle to be fought at a later date.

Three thousand miles! These wives weren't born yesterday, y'know.

I see I have a lot of support from you guys! Well, I think I'll go clean the bugs off my C5 after our little road trip yesterday. Thanks for being so understanding! NOT! Have a nice day in your C6's. I'd probably get one except you guys and my wife think alike! Dan

Steve: Wow!! Hot looking car! Sorry you were troubled and had to post it again! I think I have to come with a strategy here. But, I fear this is the sign my wife will post once I start down the road. But, I love the color. I'm jealous! If I get one I'll post for you to peak at. But, don't old your breath. Thanks! Dan

The C6 is an amazing car. If you can afford it, go for it. Your wife will never understand how it feels getting into the driver's seat of that car. Plus, the color is awesome. If that car is alredy gone, get the 2006!

Dave: Thanks for taking the time to write. I plan to have discussions with the dealer this coming week. Regards, Dan

First, I went and saw a couple of MR cars at a dealer in Houston tomorrow. I have always been kind of so-so on Mag red. But I have to tell you that Monterey red may now be my favorite color. And I was at a dealer that had virtually all colors all in one area.

Now, to your "problem". I traded a C6 coupe with 3,000 miles on it for my C6 vert. My wife just asked one question - "will this delay me getting new kitchen appliances?" (we had just had new counter tops put in). Guess what my answer was! Believe me, there is only one possible answer to that queston!!!.

Jim: C6 for a C6? Well, you definately beat me on this one. And, how are you liking your new kitchen appliances? Thanks for the reply. Dan

With the very limited driving you do in your Vette, I'm not sure I could justify the big hit you'll take on the C5 just to have a C6 not to drive. But that's just me. I like to keep some of my money.
But hey it's your's to spend as you see fit.

At this point, without any negotiations to speak of, the hit is only $3,000.
