do me a favor, put two cans of open pop (don't even try this with bottles, they will not only spill, your passenger will be wearing both!) in the center GM holders, then go WOT, then stop......you will then learn, that it LOOKS like there is two holders
I see it slides under the console a little bit but what exactly is holding the bottom portion in place and keeping it stable enough to hold two full bottles/cans, is it the floormat?
Nicely done. Some asked "Why extra cup holders?" Heck, some of us have cell phones, pagers, cameras, fobs, small purchased items, Id badges, notes to self, garage openers, E-toll devices, memory sticks, etc... so, extra storage right at hand is ALWAYS welcome, IMHO. (And I'll bet a drink stays coooler there!)

I've had a few tell me they have placed them on the drivers side, but they were really designed for the passinger side, I guess if you slide it in on the drivers side and you still have leg room, then go for it,
Seems with these there is no need for the console based cup holders. Can the console based unit be modified to be used as a general storage compartment?
