Default Flashed.... Repeatedly!

have owned my C6 convertible for one month.... I can't go very far at night without being high beam "flashed" by oncoming traffic when my low beam HID's are on.

aggravating as hell.... wondering if others are enjoying the same reception?

I was flashed one time. Ah but that's another story.

With the C6 I have had a couple of people flash their high beams at me. I just don't have time for it to bother me though. Probably wouldn't have thought of it had you not brought it up.

Funny enough, I was just pulled over by a Harris County Deputy, who asked me why I was blinding people.

I responded sorry sir, my low beams are on, he had me flash my highs, show him my fog lights, and then let me go....

Mostly from truckers for me....... Seems like it was less of a problem if I had my fogs off. Getting ready to drive back to MA from NC tonight, not looking forward to it either. Maybe GM needs to think about self-adjusting hid's ? Would this fix the problem ?

Darn, and here I thought based on the subject I would read some erotic story of how babes were flashing YOU while you drove the Corvette and learn how I could get some of the action.

I am soooo disappointed now.

C'mon, guys -- please be sensible:

I don't care if you are driving a 2006 Corvette with 12 miles on the clock, or a 1948 truck with 250K in milage, if you are having multiple drivers on multiple occasions flash their brights at you, you need to get you headlights checked out and probably adjusted!

When HIDs first came out, they were unusual and perhaps some folks just assumed the oncoming lights were high beams, but at this stage in the game, there are enough of these lighting systems out there that if you have a recurrent message being given to you, don't ignore it!

* Have you 'lowered' or otherwise altered the suspension?
* Is your car loaded unusually?

On the Porsche systems (Litronic), there are little motors that constantly try to readjust the lamps as you go over bumps or the car is loaded differently. Some people were upgrading only the light cartridge, but leaving the motor and control part out. Not good!

Be considerate of others who share the road.

Maybe it is a good idea to see if the lights need adjusting; however, not everyone can tell whether they are looking at HIDs or just regular high beams. If it's blinding, it doesn't matter what they are. The HIDs are great to see with, but not great to be looking at as they approach. And yes, I get flashed, too.

Come on now. With an exciting title such as "Flashed - multiple times!" I thought we'd have a hot post here with pics of some girl supporting corvette owners by displaying her attributes, or at least what could pass censorship. Disappointed again. Where are all the hot corvette babe photos? Start putting some scenary in our posts!

And before anyone says anything...the only women I get to see for the next 10 months are in burkas so yes I want to see some good pics of vettes and babes!

I did get flashed at a stoplight while out with my wife...the guy was a troll somewhere between 50 and 200 years old, about 5'2" and looked like Yoda. Raincoat opened, and there it was.

He didn't wave, though, so I assume he was not a Corvette driver.

Haven't had a problem with the headlights though!

I have been flashed a couple of times. My wife was following me last night and actually told me that the right light seems to be aiming higher than the left... Easiest way to see is...face your garage door, and see what level they are projecting at. When I performed my little test...sure enough, one was aimed higher than the other. You think they would properly adjust the lights as it left KY.

I have another story involving the word "flashed" but we need to open a more appropiate thread for that one

And I thought other people were flashing me at night because they liked the car!!!

I don't drive the car that much at night (I find it's a lot more fun to drive it in the daylight hours), but when I do I get flashed usually once a trip. I find that if the Vette is going uphill and an oncoming car is going downhill, the light will be a little brighter on their end... I wouldn't change it, however, because I really like the light pattern and brightness of the HID's...
