Last week I was fortunate to see the new ZO6s coming off the line in Bowling Green and to my surprise their mud flaps actually looked good!
I have 9,000 miles on my Mag Red C6 and the car is taking a beating from road stuff and will add mud flaps WHEN decent looking ones are available. I have seen the ones offered on the Forum however in my opinion they do not look as good as the ones that I saw in BG.
Does anyone know if GM is planning to make flaps for the C6?
I have seen the Z06 in person and I agree strongly that they are very good looking and practical. If someone makes those available for my C6 I would definately buy them. I am not happy with any of the ones I have seen advertised so far.

Be nice! Haven't you heard that "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder"? also I'm sure it is helping with the road stuff. Just not as nice as the ZO6s flaps.

The Z06 rear "guards" are little more than thick moldings and provide minimal protection.
Installed my flaps (F&R) over the holiday weekend. Got Mag Red color-keyed ones to match the exterior from Complete Dreams. Don't have a digital camera or I would post pics. Sorry! May try to borrow one.
They look O.K. by me. With the color match, you don't even notice them from the side or front. I had applied the full Cleartastic kit this spring for protection, but some came off right away, and what I haven't lost still get dirt on the edges or a white Zaino line or need to be massaged after a washing. And needless to say, the pieces collect dust even more than the rest of the car - which makes them stand out too.
I think these new flaps will protect without the hassle & look good.
I talked to one of the factory reps at the Road America Corvette Corral about the possibility of GM offering the ZO6 style splash guards as a retrofit for the base coupe and vert. He said there were no plans for this or any changes to the existing style of the inner wheel wells. He felt that if there was enough of a demand that an after-market vendor would design and offer this for sale. He did agree that the design of the base car did cause a problem for the painted areas behind each wheel. I installed the Mid America version because with only 4K on my coupe I am getting chipped paint behind the front wheels. They aren't the best looking but it hopefully will protect the paint until one of our vendors comes up with a better looking design. Price-wise the ones from MAD are a total rip-off. $50 for four small pieces of vinyl and 6 metal clips is simply insane but then I guess most of the aftermarket items for the Vette are.
For those who have any of these guards from Mid America, Zip, or Complete Dreams, etc. How do these guards deal with road clearance problems like serious speed bumps? From the various product pictures, it appears that they would make serious contact/damage.
I got the Altec body-colored "Autocross Splash Guards" from the Corvette Forum Store, and think they are . Like them alot ! Also got the body-colored license frame. Sorry, no pix.
I added 3m film behind the wheel wells also when I had my clear bra put on.So far its doing the job...no paint chips...just dirt from the wheels...this weekend I am installing mudflaps front and back...I want to try and stop the dirt further on back...It won't look bad.... and if anyone doesn't like them...ts....let their car get beat to sheet...mine will be protected. my 2 cents.
I have been down this Road before...since 1997 I have had Splash Guards on all my Vettes....Never had a problem with Road Clearance and when there Color Keyed they really look good......better then that never a Knick behind the wheel Wells.....Have them on my C6 Also (Altec)..HTG39@aol.com

I agree. I noticed that the yellow z06 looked pretty cool with the guards... but "mudflaps"?
When I was in the service, we called our flashlights "Aerospace Darkness Penetration Systems", so we really do need to come up with a tech-speak term for those that's better than 'mudflaps"
Maybe one of the fly-boys....?
(I heard a new [for me] cool fly-boy term just the other day - 'bogey dope' = target information)
