Small crack in Windshield

Small crack in Windshield
While driving on the highway today, a tiny rock hit my windshield and made a very small crack (whole thing is maybe 1/2 inch diameter).
Is it ok to just have it repaired as opposed to replace. If so can anyone suggest a good place? I live in Northridge, CA.

If you have State Farm insurance, they will have it repaired at no cost to you.
They have an arrangement with a national chain that repairs small chips, dings etc.

with State Farm there is no claim involved.
It is a service to keep clients happy, and probably from "accidentally" making a minor cosmetic issue bigger, requiring a windshield change.

I have $0 deductable comprehensive with the AAA, just got my annual bill today, and there's no increase even though they replaced my windshield (at no cost to me) when the car was 1 month old...Don't be afraid to file...

I live in GA & took a rock in the windshield in a 2001 Monte Carlo. Allstate gave me the option of calling whomever I wanted to replace the glass. Total cost to me: $50.00 and didn't affect my premiums. It was covered under the comprehensive portion of the policy, I believe.
