Okay, two things I have already that I will hope to use on my new 'vette:
1) Car Chip E/X -- great little data logger/ code reader-resetter - supposed to work with any OBDII compliant car, but I have seen some functions not supported... so anyone know if ALL paramteres can be read on the '05 vette? (all o2 sensors, throttle position, engine load, temp, RPM, fuel trim, etc, etc)
2) What about Gtech? I have had problem picking up RPM on some vehicles, and that limited functionality on some cars. Anyone using one on C6? Good results?
I know that the Vetronics TechII (official GM code reader) needs a CANdi module to read and reset codes for the C6. Due to the new universal standard req by govt. Make sure that the carchip E/X is CAN compliant

Thanks. Sure enough, I cruised over to the offiical site, and it looks like my older model may not work on new vehicle... oh well, I prefer the new USB interface versus my current serial port anyhow, so I guess that's an upgrade I'll be making. Hey, it served me well on four of my own cars, and several friends, so at least I know it does what it promises.
Thanks again.

Hey, I don't know if a lot of people are looking at this thread, but anyone who valets your car, or loans it to roomie while you are away on weekend, or let's wife use it....or (shocked look) let's a teen borrow it...
The car chip is a true data logger, and it will show throttle position, RPM, speed, etc for about 75 trips, for about 300 hrs total (only records with car running - I've sometimes left it in for weeks and not filled the memory up), and it is totally unobtrusive (most cars I have used it for, I can install it blind from driver's seat, but you can't see it while driving unless you know where to look.... you can program it to not flash it's built in LED...
So if you have a 'need to know' what is going on when your car is supposed to be either idle, or in responsible hands....
