I have been using the blue digital whistler Pro 73. It has 360 detection & voice as well for night driving so you do not have to look at it, It will tell you what is aiming at you. It also looks excellent filling the cockpit with brite blue. I like it.
The ability to display 8 Freqs (4X 2K 2Ka) at the exact same time on the Dot Matrix disply is INVALUEALBE. Sure the others can track up to 6 but to actually display all 8 is worth it's weight in gold.
Driving through town or along a freeway there is *false* radar all around. I have a tower that spams X band for 8 miles straight and my friends valentine picks it up for all 8 miles.
My 8500 picks it up too but it shows it as a strong X band reading with 7 empty slots.
Now when one this strech of road i see 2 X bands or say a X band and a Ka i know the second one is a cop for sure, because it is out of the norm for daily driving.
Now 8 at once comes in handy too, driving past the hotel district in town there is one spot that i see 1Ka 1K and 3X bands, now if anything is added i know that it is a cop for sure.
Due to alot of stores and towers that spam x, k and ka for their auto openers or what not it is nice to see the display of everything out there. Also the 8500 has a spec any mode too for those that like to find out exactly what freq the cops are using in thier area.
Just things that i would never give up in my radar dector of choice....

I did a lot of checking before buying the Bel Pro RX65. One of the major reasons for not going with the Valentine 1 is that the software is outdated and not been upgraded in a long time. The latest comparison rating I looked at, did a google search, showed the Bel meeting or exceeding on 17/22 standards and the V1 only doing so on 7/22. The study was done by an independent research group.
I don't have any, but you really should add the Escort 8500 X50 to the list.
I have this unit and it has saved me more times than I can count. I even take it with me when I travel. You should see the looks I get from rental car companies
From what I can tell the 8500 X50 and the Valentine 1 are really superior units, can't go wrong with either one IMHO.
