thinking about headers
I'm seriously thinking about putting headers on my C6. Any suggestions? And, what performance and/or sound difference will they make? I have Corsa Sports (quad 3.5") on the Vette.
How could the sound be no different in the cabin? Headers definitely increase the loudness of the exhaust in addition to the use of highflow cats (or no cats). Not only does the noise level change but the tone does too (get some tinny noise in there). Even with the stock exhaust system, there is no way that the sound is going to be no different. It may not be significant or anything to worry about but to some ears, it will be different.

I'd like to know what it does to sound as well. Most people seem to agree that it changes the tone, but some say it's louder too, while others claim no volume increase. Of course I'm referring to systems with the high flow cats.
This is one of the questions I need answered, too loud and my wife will make my drive her Q45 when we go out.
I put headers on my 93 coupe, didn't create a higher noise level (maybe a little more tinny sound then stock). I did notice a difference in sound when I next added the Borla's (too much cabin drone). As far as a hugh gain in H.P., I didn't see it but when I added the 3.73 gear everything came together. Now a policeman in Nashville owns it, I wonder if he got any tickets yet?

Jeff! The distinguished gentleman's gettin' headers? Whoo-hoo! Can't wait to see / hear those puppies!
Take a look at my recent threads. I'm still going through the exhaust questions. I'm thinking along the lines of B&B Route 66 with / without headers or high flow cats alone. Have to make up my mind soon; I'm spending way too much time just thinking about it.

Spoke with Norm at Horsepower Sales in Pompano Beach, FL. Looks like the headers will be the dynatech 1.78" supermaxx. He said my corsa sports will sound better and that I will pick up 25/30 rwhp. Cost: header system $1,695, installation $300. So I'm looking at $2k.

Thanks for the comments.

Two things, Jeff.
First, did you think about Kooks or LGs? I've heard some bad stories about Dynatech and fires. Granted, the problem has probably been solved, but just fyi. All over the forum a couple months ago, probably when you were in the Pacific Northwest.
Second, the system might get really loud. That's just what I've heard, not from personal experience.

Craig
Thanks for the info, I'll verify with Norm. There is a special on LG's, same price, I also check them out with Norm.
Once I get the system on I'l give you a call and we can meet for lunch and you can hear the difference for yourself.
Take care.
