Appears 2006s Coming Out Of BG @ The Speed Of Light
For example, my car was built on Wednesday and at the dealer near Atlanta Friday. It must have rolled straight off the line to a waiting hauler.
This kind of concerns me. What happen to all that QC stuff we have heard so much about? Seems a little helter/skelter ; got my fingers-crossed they didn't overlook something important.
Building something so complicated, so quick, and then rushing it to the market is scary. I hope quality didn't take a back seat!

I wouldn't worry about that too much, I'm sure that kind of 'time frame' isn't very common. I'd bet that it was just a situation where ALL things came together at once (car completed, QC area wasn't backed up, truck was loaded waiting for that one last car (yours) and then on the road they went).
Let us know how looks/runs when it comes in though.

'06 Quality hold?
My guess is that they knew that they had everything right this time, and after final inspection, they felt confident enough to say " ship 'em out".
At least that's what I'd like to believe.

I wouldn't worry about it, you want a short shipping time and your vehicle probably started building Monday or Tuesday, which is normal. If your have toured a lot of plants, the Corvette line is snail like compared to some other plants. I think they build one in 24-35 hours where a lot of plants are on the 6-12 hours.

A quick build-to-delivery cycle can even be a good sign. I've built and run a few semi-automated factories in the electronics business, and any of the quality gurus will tell you that the highest quality products have it designed in from the start, and are manufactured in a highly efficient, streamlined way.
The worst way to try to get quality into a product is to inspect it in at the end of the line. When you see a manufacturing operation with a lot of 'finished goods inventory' being inspected, reworked, and inspected again, look out.
There's lots of data that says that a product that was reworked at the end of the line, for any reason, is MUCH more likely to fail again out in the field.

I wondered if there was a final overall QC inspection after the drive-off, performance test, and water leak test, but from the quick shipping, I have concluded that there is not.

Maybe they have everything right on the 2006. The way to find out about problems is to sell them to owners. Holding on a lot for 2 weeks with no one driving them won't show up a problem.

Mine was built on Monday, April 16 and at the dealership in west central Wisconsin on Wednesday, April 18. To date, 5,859 miles later the only problem I have is the FM reception. Enjoy!!
