Lots of concern here in Houston over hurricane Rita. The irony is that we are still hosting a lot of our displaced brothers and sisters from New Orleans in shelters around the area... looks like they might get hit twice! That's just wrong.
Pray for us here in Houston and all along the southern Gulf coast... this one looks like it's going to get pretty serious.
Best wishes... and prayers for all those in it's path.
Although, I'm gonna smack the first person that posts a "my Mercedes was at the dealership and went underwater when the hurricane landed- who do I sue?" thread.
The only hope is that once it gets out of the warm water intersection of the Gulf stream it has some cooler water to go over before it reaches the coast. Weather Channel says maybe a Cat3. Not great but better then a Five!!!
I'm looking into buying a Home in Katy. Maybe I should re think that purchase!!!!!!
If Oregon didn't have volcanoes, earthquakes, torrential rains, and floods, I'd say consider something up here. I understand Montana's pretty nice though.
Keep your heads down!! Protect the family, pets, and the corvette. Best of luck to you. I have been through 3 hurricanes on the ground and 4 in the air - wow - that is real power.
Its a Cat 5, Max sustained winds 165mph the barometric pressure is 920 and dropping... to put that into perspective Andrew was 922, that makes this the 3rd largest hurricane EVER! Good Luck guys thankfully when it passes Coral Gables the worst we got were overcast skys
God be with you. We lived through Charley here. I pray you live through Rita. Get your stuff. Get your identification!!!! Grab what you can and get the hell out of town.
Remember those from Katrina. Have your insurance policy handy. Have your driver's license, social security card, CASH and TAKE PHOTOS of everything in your house.
One of the worst things you can lose is your identity. Make sure you have it with you.
