Is it possible to tune the C6 so it performs like the '06 Z06 or have too many modifications been made? My thought is that I may get a used '05 Coupe with low miles and do some upgrading to it since the body is essentially the same as the '06. Thoughts? Is that an impossibility?
Anything can be done if you're will to pay. Check out forum vendor The Vette Doctors. Here's a link to their Rx500 package: http://www.thevettedoctors.com/05_pa...C6_500rx.shtml
A package like this will get you started, but I think you'll need a lot more work ($$$) to get Z06 performance. Why not just buy a Z06 after the initial rush?

A tune isn't going to give a LS2 the performance of a LS7. The Z06 has 63 more cubic inches of displacement, different heads, etc. That gives a 105 hp difference. Unless you'd be satisfied with a nitrous kit, it is going to cost some serious money to up the LS2 to LS7 performance levels.
Thanks much. I think you guys are right; I'll wait patiently until the rush is over and get a 06 Z06. Who knows, maybe there'll be some deals somewhere by then, maybe not....probably not!
There is one easy way....Blower!!!! that will put you well past the z06 at a fraction of the cost.Just a thought.Bye ,bye factory warranty though, but youll be eating up the z if you can get traction.

Body is essentially the same? Different top, hood, front fenders and rear fenders. The only body parts that are the same are the windows, doors, rear bumper cover and lights. Different frame, different engine and different seat colors.
