Any one have proublems with there top yet. I have had my C6 for 3 days and nutin but proublems.
NO NO NONONONONONONONONONONN NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
none natta, zip, nada three
so - what seems to be the trouble. I've had mine for almost three months and it's working safely and steadily!! I even drop'd it at th light last night - the coolness factor is way worth the $2k I paid...
Within the first month (as of April), my power top conked out. It was back at the dealer for 10 days while waiting for a part to arrive.
Since then, it's broken two more times (July and August), though it was quickly fixed each of those times. What bothers me is that now, every time i drop or raise the top, I feel tentative until the cycle finishes correctly.
Haven't received my vette yet, but I ordered the power top . Tried it at two dealerships and it worked great and it is pretty cool. Sorry you are having problems. But thats what the warranty is all about.
I have 2 C6 powertop convertibles, one purchased in March and one in August, and I have not had a problem. One is a daily driver and I put the top down everyday for the ride home.
Not one problem ever!!!!
well i can see it will be one of thoes things that eather you have a lot of proublems or you have none......Thanks for the fast replys./..........no spell check oh boy am i in trouble
I had problems, but they've been fixed. It took several trips to the dealer to have 2 of the microswitches replaced, a body panel adjustment to the tonneau cover, and finally removal of extra tape that got in the way of one of the sensors. it now works flawlessly for a month, several times a day. It was very frustrating at the time, but I'm still happy I went with the power top. It's a huge convenience and you will find that you get much more topless time because it's so easy to drop the top - even at a red light.
I've had one micro switch replaced, and then the second time both micro switches were replaced. I lost no down time the second time because I had the dealer put the top up manually and then I drove it until the new switches came in. Took them about 1.5 hours to fix. Of course I could not put the top down while waiting for the parts, but at least I could drive it.
Mine got stuck in the down postion a couple of times; one time all I did was disconnect the battery cable (neg), wait about 3-5 minutes, reconnect it and it worked fine. Another time that DIDN'T work, went to the dealer and after about an hour, they had to clear out all the reset codes in the computer(s) and reprogramm "it" and has worked fine ever since. No parts replaced yet.
I love it and it was well worth the extra $2K; its a trip when you're at a red lite and you know you have enough time to put it down (in traffic), if you want attention, try this sometime. HAHA But I have to admit, every time I do this, I always hope it doesn't get stuck in the half way position-can you imagine how embarrassing this could get? LOL
This may sound crazy -- and I have not tried it as my power top has been flawless -- but... the dealer told me he had trouble with some tops "getting stuck". You know that little button in the trunk that the divider must depress for the top to work? He claims it will operate as a reset button for the system. He claims you pull back the divider, depress the button again and all will be well. Maybe...
