Default Cant do it

I ordered mine with it and dealer screwed up and it wasnt installed. I wrote Kevin and his reply was no go as the wiring harness is diferent. You can do aftermarket only. Stinks I know.

..and just to add to what has already been posted, in addition to the wiring harness (or lack thereof) as far as I know you can't GET the "stock" NAV unit from GM.

last time I checked they were ONLY available "on exchange" as a warranty replacement part from the outsourced repair depot. in other words, you can't buy one outright, if yours breaks GM will send it in to the warranty repair center and you'll get another in it's place.

aftermarket is the way to go if you didn't order it OEM.

I got a Garmin C330 for $650....of course it doesn't show through the HUD and does not give you the same "wow" factor.

On the upside though....works great....can easily move to another car....and frequent updates are made available.

I'm thinking of changing my '05 in for an '06...but I will not be ordering the NAV unit. Now if the price was more reasonable or costs weren't a concern...that's another story!

I have a Garmin IQue which allows you to switch base maps -- I originally bought it for my boat as a backup GPS. This summer took it to Sicily (Euro road map on a memory card) where it was fantastic both on the road and on foot.

Consider the Kenwood 8017 or Pioneer AVIC D1 with XM nav traffic...they offer many more features than the stock piece, plus they fit in the OEM dash opening.

I have owned both, and they are leagues ahead of the factory stuff. The Eclipse AVN54xx series are another option.

I also have a Garmin c330. Only $560 at Sam's or Costco. My wife thought it was stupid at first. Then, when we went to new cities, she uses it to find her favorite department stores. We were in Alabama a few weeks ago for a car show, and she decided she wanted a catfish dinner. Just searched for seafood restaurants and had some great catfish. Now she doesn't think it's so stupid. I can also switch it over to my Seville when I need to.

Forgot to mention one other thing about the Garmin c330. It's black with a silver border. Looks like it was designed to match the C6 instrument panel.
