A thread I started in August regarding my encounter on a Private road with my brother's STi was recently ressurected and then removed . A moderator sent me a PM to the effect that private road or not such a story will encourage others to relate similar stories which may have indeed occured on a public street. I can see that logic.
Apparently track or dragstrip stories are ok though.Or are they?? Well I'm thinking that they are really nothing more than private road as well. But I do realize that safety personnel , etc. would be available there and not on a two lane private road with the sweetest , smoothest new blacktop with a two mile straithaway made available by it's owner .As for walkers none. Animals are always a danger---but I have seen them on the track at Pocono years back as well---deer.
With all that said I wish to add that NOBODY HAS ANYTHING TO GAIN BY RACING ON A PUBLIC ROAD---BUT YOU SURE HAVE A LOT TO LOSE.
Are track encounters ok here? Are dragstrip encounters ok here? By the logic of the moderator would these not also encourage more stories or even worse---POEPLE TRYING IT AT HOME---HOME MEANING THE STREETS.
I also fail to see a real distinction between the moderator noting on his avator that he was a CI burnout and drag champion. Would that not encourage others to cook the tires as well--perhaps leading to stories that may have occurred on public streets
What to you think? Any double standards going on here? Is this thread going to be locked and pulled as well? Are such question as I bring up even permitted. If this thread locks and there are no more posts or replies with the awful flatbed shot then we,ll know.
I will do that--thanks. Maybe they ban those exciting tails of Zaino, to nav or not to nav, what color should I get, etc. Com'n you have to admit track and drag tales are just a tad more exciting then waxing philosophic about car wax.
While I get rules I must agree with you not a lot different than a track. People post speeding tickets does that mean I am going to speed? Most of the vendors sell products to make your car go faster and quicker, why do you think we buy it? Many post dyno and 1/4 slips again speed. Lastly GM sells a car that they quote does 186 miles an hour last time I checked there isn't a roan in America than you can do 186.

Well so much to answer here... but the main thing is that if you have an issue with a guideline or a question about it why dont you just PM us or an administrator. Why make it a public situation, these threads will just turn into freeposting threads and they usually go no where and the answer to your question never truly gets answered.
There are several forums here within the corvetteforum for Drag Racing, Roadracing, autox'ing.. all sorts of information on racing... the guidelines just do not allow a forum member to post a race on (public or private) roads.. its just something the forum doesnt want to promote or be a part of. Do you realize there are all ages that read the forum... even children.. we try to keep it a somewhat safe/civil place for everyone... and talking about how you burned someone on a street or road outside of closed in parameters like the drags etc is just not perceived as a proactive thing the forum wants to support... Believe me I can post threads all day on how many people I rip or how fast Ive gone before, or the laws I break on a weekly basis...... but its not something the forum wants to support on the world wide web...there is a section on the main forum for guidelines... please go there or email/PM us if you have any questions or feel there an unfair situation going on...
