Default New Map Update

I bought my nav map update from Gene Culley at Fred Beans, it was $161.38 plus $9.95 shipping... Should arrive early next week. This is the map update, not the software update... The part # is 15779679.

Hope this helps if anyone else is looking...

Can't imagine what problem you're having with it... Perhaps the manual will help you...

My nav has worked great from the beginning. It does take a bit of learning to work with it.

I got the update simply to include newly built and/or modified roads...

I, too, would be interested in hearing what the differences are in the 2 versions and whether the update is worth it. Also, when was the update done? How out of date is it already? Keep us posted.

My NAV system has found destinations for me flawlessly until a couple days ago when I tried to find the address of a friend's house that is in a fairly new development completed 3 or 4 years ago. His address was not found but that really didn't surprise me since I already knew that my NAV disc has a 2003 date. It's version 1.

I say again that my system has found every other address I've asked for and guided me to the location like I've been driving there for years. I'm very pleased with the system.

I'd love to find out if the updated disk has my friend's address on it before buying the new disc. Perhaps someone with the updated disc calln check to see if Turnbull Court in Antioch, CA. shows up on their disc.

The nav update (p/n 15779679) is also available through GMPartsDirect.com for $146.71 plus the outrageous fee of $32.28 for shipping and handling. Total: $178.99

That is the same part number as the NAV disc that came with my 2005 C6 in August. Is there any plans for a newer disc?

That does not mean the nav can find it.

The first time I used my nav, I entered the address. It was there. But about two miles from my destination, the nice little nav lady informed me that she would not be able to provide guidance any longer. I called my friend (need-for-speed, btw) and he gave me directions over the phone to his house. When I pulled up in front of his house, suddenly the nice little nav lady announced "you have reached your destination". My wife and I said in unison - "yeah, no thanks to you, bitch!".

Have had exactly the same results several times! That's why I named the nav system "Marge" after my dear mother, God rest her soul! She had a difficult time finding her way from room to room in our house!

If you need help getting out of the garage, no NAV, map, cell phone , etc. is going to help you, you're lost! My NAV has performed perfectly time after time. Could it be operator error?

Thanks to the guys who have responded telling me the Antioch, CA address is on their '06 disc. That is definitely a step in the right direction since it doesn't come up at all on my version 1 disc at all.

Thanks again for the help.
