Don't know why that book is called "All Corvettes are Red." Maybe someone needs to publish a follow-up "All Gorgeous, Fast Corvettes are Black!"

Not ready for gray...in black hair, gray is VERY noticeable

I am 50 and have grey hair but it still looks good....not bald or anything and the grey has some brown in it too. My son told me one time that all the people that owned Corvettes were older men with grey hair. When he wanted to borrow my car for prom I told him " I though you said all the vette owners were older men with grey hair." To make a long story short I let him take it to prom. It is impossible to catagorize the owners of these cars. Most of them agree they are great! I dont even have a C6 but hope to have one soon. They are not very plentiful in South Dakota yet.

That's not to say the car doesn't kick ***, but I think most of it's drivers don't appreciated it for the driving machine that it is.
I agree they are buying the name Porsche, but in my neck of the woods the young guys with sports cars tend to be 911 guys. Everyone I chatted with was surprised "you bought a Chevy". I said do you even know what it can do compared to your 911?

To make this scientific and relevant, we need to take a pole of 911's, and other expensive sports cars, and compare the ratio of Gray haired drivers there too. Maybe it's just that people that can afford expensive sports cars have more stress, are older, or just plain distinguished overall!
I like the idea of the other polls, how do we make it happen?

I agree 100%; none of my friends even have a clue what the C6 is capable of. They all think you need and M3, 911, or Italian job to be fast. I am trying to get the word out. People do look at the drivers though to get a perception of what the car is like. IMHO this may be part of the problem. Also I do not think the NASCAR image is a big help, sorry NASCAR fans, but to many of us it is just not cool.

In my circles we don't use the gray word; we prefer to call that color 'light black'...

I read once that Corvette owners tend to be a little older, a little single'er, and a lot cooler than the average bear.....

Maybe you do, maybe you don't! You never know for sure. One of my grandfathers was all gray before 30.

Default 63% Wow !!

I,m amazed to find out so many us are the older croud. In moast cases this would suggest more maturity, and that,s a good thing. These machines are awfull fast and do require responsible judgement. Not saying that young people are not,but stats prove they suffer more than we do behind the wheel mainy because of bad decisions. Personally i don,t spell well but this is not about english class.
I think also the ratio might be due to economics. In my day i didn,t know anybody over 21 that had a Vette . The prices in the late 50,s $3600 is a long way from the 50K plus of today.
Continue being safe, all of you,I like seein you here.

My dad was born in 47 and he wants a Z06 as well... Part is economics, the other part is perception.... IMHO

Kind of a dumb question. My wife is 60 I'm 58. I do, she doesn't. My cousin was gray at 30.

Hair color isn't a good indication of age.
