Warning to Paddle Shift Users
I got a chuckle while reading my 2006 Owner Manual.
Did you know?
The maximum speed allowed for downshifting of gears one (1) through fourth (4) are:
Into first (1) gear over 45 mph (i.e., if you're going over 45 you can't downshift into first)
Into second (2) gear over 81 mph
Into third (3) gear over 124 mph
and this is the best one:
Into fourth (4) gear over 168 mph
(the manual transmission must be below 130 to downshift to fourth)
If I ever get to 170 mph (or higher) I'll try to remember not to downshift.

There is always some idiot who might want to try one of these shifts. The nice thing about this transmission is that it is relatively idiot-proof. It won't let you do something that stupid. Besides not doing such a downshift, the loud chime will annoy the hell out of you.
Of course it won't allow upshifts either if the rpms are too low in order to avoid lugging.

Betcha alot of 6 spd. manual drivers which their transmissions were idiot proof
