Leg room

My wife thought there was less leg room for the passenger and less room for items she likes to keep on the passenger floor next to her. In addition, truck space was down, especially with the loss of the center storage compartment. Since we use our C5 primarily for extended touring, the reduction in interior space will really make traveling less comfortable for us if we decide to buy a C6.

Front headroom is identical at: 37.90. Front legroom goes to the C6 at 43.10, and the C5 is 42.70. Shoulder room is down .1 and hiproom is down .6. Cargo volume is also down 2.4 cubic feet. I wonder if the later sizes simply give a feeling of it being smaller as the legroom is up .4, or nearly 1/2 an inch??
I am 6' 4" and probably one of the biggest 6/4 guys to try to stuff himself into a Vet. My C5 auto is fine as well as my brother's C5 Z06.
I first took a ride in a friends new C6 and my knees were jammed into the dash / glove box .... very uncomfortable ride. I then sat in the drivers seat and found slightly more knee room .... but my shins were right up to the dash and with moving my legs around constantly felt the contact.
Does anybody know if the seat rails can be drilled to move them back maybe an inch or inch & half ??? This could make it possible for me to think more about a C6.
Thanks for any help,
Terry

I'm 6' and drive with the seat moved forward about half way. No problem with legroom for me. If I move the seat back I have problems with the clutch.
6'4" 250lbs.no problem with leg room.... headroom is tight though..I find myself hanging my head sometimes....forget about seeing light if I'm first car,I try to look for reflection on fenders..I would carry a mirror if I had to....love this car!

6'4" with an offensive linemans body--I first ordered a manual but once I sat in it I knew there was no way I was going to be able to drive the darn thing. So I waited another few months on the A4. Ditto seeing the stoplight if I am first--unless I can pull up far enough to see it out of the glass top.
Playing with the position of the seat back and bottom did the trick for me.

I wonder if there is anyone over 6 feet with a manual trans???
