Painted Fuel Rails & Engine Parts - DIY
I thought I'd share this. I painted my fuel rail covers, air intake, radiator top, and fuse box cover about 3 months ago. Believe it or not, and I know it's a little crazy, I used Rustoleum Plastic Paint.
Took everything off, sprayed it and then used clear paint to seal it.
The outcome is great and really gave some color to the engine. So far, other than normal dirt, still looks great.
Total cost, $11 (3 cans).
Thought I'd share.
I would post pictures but can't post to the forum.

Melting Slicks
I did basically the same thing but I went a slightly different route: I chose to let the dealer paint my rad support, fuse box cover and water overflow tank top Mag Red to match the fuel rail covers I purchased from Kewl 2 months before. Match? PERFECT! Ok, so it cost me about $180.00 but it looks great too! Had the car back the next day-everything they painted was baked on. Mods, mods, mods...

I just took some pics and will post as soon as I get to my pc (not responding from my PC).
I think it looks great. Want to get chrome caps to finish it off.
A word of caution, if you are a perfectionist and want to show the car for prizes, this route may not be for you. While it looks great, it is not top show quality. There are some flaws only visable up close.
I thought it would look good but didn't want to spend a couple hundred dollars just for the looks of the engine. That is me and I am not knocking anyone who does...I think the engine mods for show look great and I appreciate the time and money someone invests.
Will post in the next day or two.
...on another note, how to you get to be member who can post pics?

Thanks for the tip on the pics. I will do this.
Regarding the color, the Rustoleum Red Plastic Paint is real close. Close enough that you don't notice.
The hardest part was painting the letters black. Required using the 3m painters tape and cutting out each letter than masking off the rest of the cover. I got some over spray but you need to look close. This is why I said if you're a perfectionist, buy 'em already done...but if you want to it yourself, this is a really cheap option.
After three months and using basic car wash soap on a rag, they still look new.
