Default Sirius..ly....Help

All,

I've been all over this forum(great info!) and the Net. XM must be purged from my C6. GM only offering it(and not Sirius too) is much like Microsoft making you use Explorer. Class action...??

Me no lawyer, so that's out of the question. I have the Nav system, desperately would like Sirius. There is a little on the GM SiriusConnect(out this month?) or replace the whole unit with a Kenwood or Pioneer. I don't want a plug and play unit. If someone now has Sirius(with the Nav) please help...or I will be forced to listen to my wife's CDs!!!

Thanks...

Cooper26, I feel the same way you do about XM. I have done some research on the GM Siriusconnect. The latest I heard on it was a Debember 1, 2005 release date. I got a new Crutchfield catalog yesterday and they showed it. Had a Crutchfield stock number and all. It said to call about stereo compatibility, so I called and was told that they did not yet have the unit in stock. They were taking preorders on it though. I told the guy I had a 2005 Corvette and he informed me that the GM Siriusconnect was not compatible with our radios. After much humming and hawing, he then told me he did not know if it was compatible or not! He said the unit was so new that they did not really have any info on compatibility. So, we are back to square one on this unit. Who knows. May have to just wait until they arrive and find out if it is compatible with our radios. I think I am going to my stereo shop tomorrow and check on the Eclipse AVN5435. My car did not come with factory navigation and would like to have an in-dash unit. And, I must have my Sirius!!! Good luck and if you find out any more info on the Siriusconnect unit, let me know. Thanks!

Factory Nav, aftermarket XM success
After doing a lot of research and making a bunch of phone calls I have a Factory installed Navigation system and an aftermarket XM system that plays through the Nav screen and is installed behind the dash. The XM antennae is underneath the roof, and above the interior roof trim and completly hidden! Here is what I did: Purchased from myradiostore.com part# XMDGM100 XM radio package. It plugs in to the factory harness on the back of the Nav unit. on the harness supplied by myradiostore I had to make a jumper from the Light Green/black tracer on the 12 way harness to the Red/yellow tracer on the 24 way harness. It works like a champ. I also ordered, but not yet installed an adapter part # SON-AUX so that I can plug in a MP3 player that will automatically switch from the XM to the MP3 when a signal is detected. I am going to run the cables to the center armrest so that I can leave the MP3 in the console, completly hidden. I am posting a couple of pictures for now as the car is still apart.
