Ok....I know everyone has been talking a lot about DBS. Up until about 2 weeks ago I never had the problem. Then one day it hit me. Since then it's been getting worse, and its been happening many times each day. I can eventually start it by using the FOB to manually lock and un-lock, but I have to press them a lot. It usally takes on average 5-10 minutes to finally get it started. I hear that annoying "Click" sound every time. I went to a few dealerships and everyone denied knowing about it . One said something intresting to one of the mechanics, "This guy has so and so problem, he actually did his research about it, unlike a lot of costumers." When he said it like he did I saw right through his BS, I know I'm not the only one to come in with that complaint. I told him I read about DBS all the time on the forum.
I am bringing it in on Friday, but from what I hear, everyone who brings it in gets it back with the same problem...WTF! Any advice that I havn't already read about a 1000 times would be appreciated...Thanks.
PS- Sorry for another DBS Thread, but this SH!& has gotta stop.
I thought DBS meant Dead Battery Syndrome? If the battery is dead, then playing with the FOB shouldn't get it going, wouldn't it need a charge or a boost?

Whatever it is it sucks.....basically DBS isn't a dead battery, others have had this similar problem and have been able to start it too. It's just its so F'in stupid. I don't know why playing with the FOB gets it goin, but it does everntually. Who knows, real soon playing with the FOB won't work anymore.

Doesn't sound like "traditional" DBS, but maybe it's related? With traditional DBS, the battery is as dead as a doornail. Sometimes it's so dead that even a jump start won't work and you have to pre-charge the battery for an hour or two first.
It was my understanding that DBS was indeed dead battery syndrome and I have yet to hear of a case that didn't involve and actual DEAD battery, not a fob issue.
I think yours, thankfully for you, is not DBS. Sounds like something completely different.
I hope you get it fixed properly. The DBS thing doesn't seem to happen daily or many times in a day, it's usually days apart from the last startup, or at least a couple days from what I've read. I've experienced it ONCE and hopefully only once. Completely dead battery. No fobbing with the fob would make a dead battery start up.
Hope that helps, best wishes (nice car you have there!).
Is your battery going dead? Have you had to recharge or replace your battery?
From your initial description, it sounds more like you have a FOB issue, not DBS. Actually, it almost sounds as if the battery inside your FOB is going dead. For the heck of it, change the battery in your FOB and see if this helps.
I actually switched my FOB from 1 to 2, still the same problem. Basically I get into the car , put foot on clutch and break, and push the ignetion button. Except when I do, all power goes on, but engine doesn't start. So maybe its not offically DBS, but it's still something F'ed up. Power goes on, engine doesn't.
I agree that it does not sound like the typical DBS. I would check the voltage of the battery. It could be a bad battery. GM has replaced many of them.

Sounds like your FOB batterey might be going dead.
two things:
1- Can the FOB go dead after only 5 weeks?
2- If it is a bad battery, how can I eventually start it after 5-10 minutes with some FOB playing?
3- What voltage should I have and where can I find it on the intrument panel?
Doubt if it is your fob battery if it does it with both but putting the fob in the glovebox interface is exactly what is descibed for low fob battery issues. It is reading it directly from the fob versus a transmission.
Any other remotes close by? Somebody posted earlier about interference with another cars chipped key. Maybe a garage door opener? Radio transmitter? Cell phone? A relay tower nearby?
The other remote is at the farthest point in my house. I keep my cell phone in my pocket, but that never affected it before, no towers or garage door openers.....so I dunno. Still puzzeled
Just picked up my C6 today after an eight day stay at dealer to "fix" DBS. They checked and checked for power drain yet found nothing wrong. If this problem happened to me after a year of ownership, it could happen to any 2005 MN6 owners!
Dealer told me there are no TSBs on this issue. Will Chevolet eventually recognize/fix the problem?

Check the battery with a volt meter on the battery post. It should be about 12.6 volts. Anything below about 10 volt's and it will not start. Leave the volt meter on while trying to start (when you have the problem) and if voltage drop's below 9.5 volts while cranking it is most likely a bad battery.
