Tonight the lights on the bottom of the mirror would not shut of in my 2006 Coupe. After trying several other ideas, including driving the car, locking with the fob, opening and closing the doors, hood, and hatch, I finally disconnected the battery (negative terminal). After reconnecting the battery, the car seemed "happy" and let the mirror lights turn off.
I had tried driving the car but the lights would not shut off. Very annoying that the buttons on the bottom of the mirror were being totally ignored by the car. Some things really need a hard switch.
Hey, I've read the manual several times (before I got the car though). However, it was 3 AM and that little bit of information escaped me. That switch is not a hard switch though, because disconnecting and then reconnecting the battery fixed the problem.
