Default Turning Radius

Has the turning radius improved over the C5's? I just can't seem to notice any difference.

39 feet diameter (circle - curb to curb) for the C6, according to info. from the Corvette Museum. Don't know what the C5 was.

Thanks. I think it's got to be the same as my old 99 C5's...not great.

Google says 40.2 (curb to curb) for the 2004 C5, so the C6 is maybe a foot shorter...

Thanks for the info. Why do vette's seem to have such a wide turning radius?

My guess would be that it's due to the very wide front tires.

big front tires coupled with a big engine in the engine compartment means wide turning radius.... you could shorten that turning radius ya know but yer rear tires and axle may not like it very much

And, Here, I allways thought that a good jab of throttle in 1st gear would significantly improve the turing radius

Drove a new CL 55 AMG Mercedes coupe, it's a long wide car with pretty wide tires and a big engine up front, it turned very, very tightly???

Even my old 1980 L82 had a very poor turning radius and its stocktires were quite small compared to the C6's. Could it be a charateristic of vettes due to their suspension design?

Thanks

Not Great ? Maybe, but how tightly do you want to turn at 175 mph?

My impression is that the C6 turning radius is slightly bigger than the C5, probably due to the longer wheelbase. I used to be able to make a u-turn in the street in front of my house with the C5 I had but cannot quite do it with my C6.

CR said the 2002 vette had a 42-ft turning circle. Did the turning circle vary from year to year?

Hmm I just got the 40.2 from the first site I googled. It must be true if its on the Interweb, right? Anyone got the tiebreaker?
