Default New C6 2005 model......

Hi, new guy here I'm a current Mercedes owner 2001 S430 done everything to it modding wise-SuperCharged it, wheels, cat-deleat you name it I prertty much have done it....

Anyhow I'm 90% sure on buying the BEAUTIFUL new style C6 2005 model,
I allready talked w/A&A Corvette in Oxnard, Ca. about SC'ing it!

Question to you guys: Is the new C6 tolerable as a daily driver or how bout long trips? I drive from Santa Barbara, to LA about once a month a 2 hour drive, I'll have to sell my Benz to purchase this BEAST!!

I still own a beater/truck for hauling stuff but this new Vette will be my primary go to vehicle.

All comments welcome thanks for your responses, My names Sean....You guys truely have some beautiful rides.

If you want to see some pic's of my Benz give me the word

I drive mine every day and love it! I don't know how it compares to your Benz but it's very tolerable.

It's an awesome driver for purposes other than fun, just make sure you do the right thing though and get a manual with the Z51. Loving mine...

I allready know what ya mean, what is wrong w/those clowns
You guys must get 100 times the attention in the new Vette! I guess it goes hand in hand, You obviously get a lot of positive attention as well as retards trying to race you in inferior rattle traps...

Daily driver for me, no problems. Really a very practical as well as fun car as long as you don't need a back seat. Gas milage and cargo capacity are good. I too have a beater truck, but I only use it for snow and hauling stuff that's really messy or abrasive.
The C6 is a very nice road trip car, too. Quite comfortable on the highway except for trying to keep the speed down in the semi-legal range.

I drive mine every day. I couldnt ask for more.
Its even better for road trips. Super comfortable, the gas milage is unreal (advertised 28mpg with MN6, i've seen sustained 32-34mpg with the cruise set to 70) and there's just enough room for 2 people's worth of stuff for a week. Unless you have a family of four to carry around, the vette is a spectacular car.

IMHO,

Z51, 6Spd Manual = Sports purist version. You are probably under 40 yrs old.

F55, A6 = Daily Driver/City Stop-n-Go/Road Trip version. You are probably 40 yrs old or older.

I would recommend that you test drive a Z51 car and see if you want to feel that much of the road everyday to and from work. Be sure you want to row the gears in stop-n-go city traffic too.

Just my $0.02 worth.

I drove from Bowling Green to New York in April, over 1,000 miles, in one day by myself. It was a most enjoyable ride and I have the Z51 suspension.

Unless you are getting a huge discount, get a 2006.

or why not get the Z06, having an S430 and spending mods on it means you got the $$$, y not go for the Z06 and super charge it..now that would be a monster

I hear you but I've thrown away to much money on this last Merc, It really kinda pissed me off so much money for a 5 sec 0-60 4 door.

I'm going w/the 05 C6 and it's going straight to A&A Corvette for the works SuperCharger exhaust ect...I talked w/A&A and they informed me 500 rwhp was definitely doable on the new C6! that'll spank the Z06 if I'm not mistaken...

You seem, like a great bunch of people over here thanks for all the replies and making me feel welcome.

BTW someone mentioned age, I'm 30.....I've been wanting a Vette for years and test drove a few of the earlier models, I thought they were to rough a ride, from what you guys have told me and what I've read I think this 2005 will do nicely! Especially price wise and ease of modabilityfor more ponies! way the HELL cheaper than my heavy **** benz...

I'll be test driving one this weekend and report back to you guys about it....

My C6 is a daily driver. It goes rain or shine. Of course we don't have snow down here.
