When my wife's XM ran out on her 2004 Suburban she decided not to renew it. We ignored many, many letters from them then one day she got a call from an XM saleman. (I wasn't home at the time so I don't know the whole story but this is what she told me). She kept refusing and they kept lowering the price and finally she said "For $3 a month she would consider it". They agreed! She still decided not to get it. I looks to me like there is a lot of negotiation room in the price if you are willing to get them against the wall... after all it doesn't cost them anything extra to send a signal to your car so anything they get is better than nothing.
My wife received a call as well and was offered one year for $69.95 which she accepted. I don't know what I'm going to do on the vert. When I am driving alone I generally don't even turn the radio on. With the CD, FM and AM stations I have enough to listen to if I want and I may just pass the XM deal.

I'm hooked on the XM Comedy channel, but they are not getting more than 77 per year from me. I'll wait them out come next Spring, I've got time(I think)-- E
I called XM yesterday and requested the $77 per year rate and she said I did not qualify for it. Then I called again today, spoke to someone else, and they gave it to me plus a $2 invoice fee. Thanks for the code guys!
The code "ZWINBACK" is good, but sometimes it depends on who you talk to when you call. If they don't honor the code call back until you get someone who will. With the competition they are getting from Sirius and even Ipod I think they may be getting a little more cooperative.
