Just blow off the other guys... Its your car, while I have not gotten one for mine (yet), I have used them in the past for the exact reasons your stated, as well as keeping the dash out of the sun (I unlike many, drive it just about every day). However, I have never seen a 1/2 mat before.

I have never understood the strong opposition to dash mats.
It must be the herd syndrome or something. A dash mat is really a minor thingy and probably better looking than some of the women these guys hang out with.

If you wanted to get rid of the glare it would've been better just putting the whole dash mat instead of that small piece, JMO.
