Son Needs Cochlear Implant Surgery
I presume it is a Coupe and think that letting the winner choose the Color is a nice feature ! Since Color options are available, I am left wondering if other options are available too.
What set of options and features are included in the prize Corvette? Does the winner have an opportunity to option the car as they would like? (E.g.; 2LT/3LT, Nav, etc). Since 1LT Coupes can be had in the $40k range and fully optioned Covertibles can get well into the $60k range, allowing the winner to select from a full range of options could surely raise the cost for donating the car that is borne by the supporting dealer. Perhaps there is a way allow the winner to option the car as they like AND limit the cost of the dealers donation.
One way to do this would be stipulating the value of the prize Corvette as the cost a specific configuration. Then the winner, should they choose a different combination of more expensive options, would bear the extra costs as well as Tax, Title License, etc as currently written into the terms & conditions. I like the idea of donating and having a realtively good chance (1000:1) at winning the car, but would really want to have several specific options/features should I be fortunate enough to win.
Can you please take a moment post more info about the Corvette? And maybe consider a means of letting the eventual winner select different options as proposed above?
THANKS

I have already purchased my ticket, and have absolutely nothing but good wishes for your son and for you. But I very much hope you do take this route -- allow the winner to pay dealer cost for any option above the base Vette, which presumably you will have obtained gratis. Folks on this Forum are unlikely to want a stripped C6.

I met with Suburban Chevrolet last week to try and figure out what we can and cant do. And I hate to say that I left more confused than before I went. Chevrolet has made an Order (i cant remeber the exact term he used) available for them to be turned in at the last of Jan. or first of Feb. that can be filled in a 2-3 week period making a car available at the end of Feb at the latest. Problem is we have to pick the options and color before the Raffle ends that way. I told the Dealer I did not want to do it that way if at all possible. So he is checking into other options. I would love more than anything to be able to let the winner get their Corvette just the way they want it. I know this doesnt answer the question but it is all I know right now.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
Looking back, my life wouldn't be diminished at all if I'd have passed on that garbage, and on all the other stupid purchases like it over the years. All the thousands and thousands of wasted dollars.
If I were a better man, I'd do the better thing and make a straight donation. But, I'm not a better man, so I just bought one ticket with some coin that I still had sitting in PayPal.
In any case, Good Luck with Tucker's procedure.

This thread needs to be pointed to from many of the other forums. I found it completely by accident seaching on an off the wall keyword I was interested in.
The NCM raffle on the C6 Z06 SOLD OUT at 500 tickets at $500 each, so certainly just as many people would have an extra $100 to spare for this.
Do you have a banner ad to run? Might get some additional traffic. Heck I would put it on a few of my own sites if you have one.
Oh..and those of you who asked about details on the Vette and the ability to trade up, I don't think that would be an issue.
I take part in a similar dealer raffle every year here in the Chicago area to benefit Spina Bifida (sp?), and am good friends with several managers at the dealership. They routinely allow for the trade in, finance the sales taxes, etc.
The actual car though is not really for choosing. Typically the dealer buys the car from GM at a SUBSTANTIAL cost savings due to the charity involvement. Basically, you win that car...and then trade it in just as you would any other car you own. Obviously you receive less than what the dealer could sell it for as in any trade. If the dealer is on the up and up, that trade value should reflect the substantial savings the dealer had in getting the car from GM in the first place.
Bottom line, and depending on what you choose for the trade-up, you could get a new corvette to your liking for 5-20K, dependig on what model you chooose, and what option package! Not bad.
