Questions about Priority Start
1. If tripped, will PS leave the window indexing inoperative?
2. Same question for seat memories.
3. If tripped, will I still be able to enter the car through the door, or will I have to use the emergency hatch key to get in?
I see an endless number of devices for sale at all different prices. Most don't have brand names. One of the more expensive units I've seen is sold by Performance Parts for $64.95...is this any better than others I've seen?
Do these things really work? I'm hesitant to add one to my car, but if they work seamlessly in the background and don't lock me out of my car, I might just decide to do it. Thanks for any help with this.
Having said this, I have elected not to use priorty start or replace the battery. I'm going to live with it. My C6 is a second car (although I drive it more than my Tahoe
), and DBS hit me both times in the garage. So far only a minor inconvience.

I'll answer your questions as best I can as I have a Priority Start and I am looking at the instructions and documentation which came with it.
1.The Priority Start with "disconnect" your battery from the car if it detects a significant enough drain. Once a 12 volt battery drops below 11.7 volts the unit will disconnect and the car will be "powerless" in an attempt to save the battery. This would indicate that window indexing would be off.
2. Anything which would have to be reset were the battery removed would have to be reset if the Priority Start were tripped. I don't think this includes your seats.
3. You will have to use the rear hatch key and pull the door latch from the rear of the car to enter it. Pushing in the cigarette lighter will reconnect your battery and you can start the car up.
On another note, the Priority Start can be disconnected from the car by unplugging it's ground wire. This still leaves the battery connected. This is what I just did because I am using my Battery Tender over the winter.
The Priority Start is only good on a car left sitting for about 4 weeks. After that time if the car is not started, your battery is liable to die anyway.
After reading these dead battery stories, I wouldn't be without my Priority Start. Its cheap insurance should you ever leave the car parked in an Airport or Hotel parking lot.
It its too simple to install. You hook your positive battery cable to it, hook the positive cable of the unit to your battery's positive post, and hook the unit's small negative wire to your battery's negative post. It is held in place to your battery with a band.
All too easy and you don't have to worry about it until the TSB from GM comes out.
