Has anyone had any problems with their Trans Top? I'm leaning towards the trans top for my silver/ebony. Also, those of you who have already purchased or are the process on purchasing a silver c6, why silver, just curious.

Why silver? Silver seems to stay cleaner looking longer. Just my opinion though.
It doesn't show dirt and dust nearly as easily as LeMans Blue.
It doesn't show swirls or spiderwebs nearly as easily as LeMans Blue.
It's nowhere near as conspicuous as Victory Red.
It reaks of class.
It works very well with the crummy-looking silver plastic interior trim.
It will never go out of style.
When freshly washed and waxed, it positively glistens in the sun.
It works beautifully with the Ebony, Titanium, and Cobalt Red interiors.
To be honest, when I originally placed my order I specified LeMans Blue / Ebony. I think it's still my favorite C6 color combo. I changed to Machine Silver / Ebony, though, because I just didn't want to have to spend so much time trying to keep my car looking good. I've had my Corvette for just about 5 months now with no regrets over the color.

I have a trans top, no problems at all. Monty Red here though on color. I like all colors though.
I have the silver top only and wouldn't swap for the trans. I don't think I would ever use the trans if I had both. I had a trans on my '97 and it had a million little spider cracks. Plus, I feel the body color tops looks better on the car from the outside. Just my opinion.

I love my Silver!
I have to admit by day two I had a noise in my transparent top and it drives me crazy. I also have some rubbing sound in my steering wheel. Everyone talked about how the C6 did not have all the creaking and rattles like the C5. My C5 had a lot of noises, but they did not start until well after day 2! I am a little disappointed in that department, but I do love the car

Silver is very sophisticated and enhances the lines of the C6. I ordered just the transparent top as it gives a two tone look and additional headroom
I have both tops and don't use the solid top very much on my Black C6. In my opinion, it is difficult to tell that the top is transparent from a distance with the dark color.
I have had no problems with either top.

I have that setup. The black transparent top and silver body are a great combo. I like the way it looks better than silver top and silver body. If you are worried about heat. They sell a cling on shield that blocks about 50 % of the sun. I live in FL and love the transparent top.
I have a silver C6 with both tops. I used the body-colored top during the hottest part of summer; otherwise, I use the transparent top. I've had not problems at all.

Yea !!! That Too !!!!!
Actually bought the transparent top after ordering the car (OK, I Forgot). Was unable to "conveniently" take the new top to BG due to limited space in the wife's driver. Drove back to Georgia with the silver top then changed to the transparent the next day and haven't changed back yet. I gotta admit, I was (and still am) a bit nervous about scratches so I keep a load of RejeX on it (as well as the rest of the non-porous surfaces. Since Georgia tends to get a bit warm in summer, I will likely take the painted top off of the garage wall around April.
