wheel weights...
This afternoon I installed a set of comp. grey wheels on my C6 w/Z51. These wheels have Falken GR Beta FK-451 tires installed (stock sizes). Thought it would be interesting to compare weights of this configuration with the stock Z51 tires/wheels. Here are the results (digital bathroom scale w/0.5 lb. resolution):
Stock Z51
F: 50.5 lbs, R: 58.0 lbs
Falken FK-451
F: 49.0 lbs, R: 56.0 lbs
So only saving 7 lbs by swapping out the run flats, but 7 lbs of unsprung weight has to help. The Falkens do seem to be a bit narrower than the Z51 tires though.
Stock Z51
F: 50.5 lbs, R: 58.0 lbs
Falken FK-451
F: 49.0 lbs, R: 56.0 lbs
