today was a beautiful day here in south florida..

A TOP DOWN day!!

while cruising at around 50 miles per I made the mistake of opening the console to retrieve a different pair of sunglasses..

I had 2 checks in the console and as soon as I opened it away they went.. I caught one before it escaped but one is gone..luckily the one I caught was the one that mattered the most..the one that got away was not for a large amount and it can be replaced easliy

if anyone keeps any loose papers or reciepts or checks in their console I suggest you do not open it while going 50 with the top down!!

Wow! Hate to say it, but

 

It has been quite a surprise to me just how much anything light gets sucked out of that center console with the top down. I've even had CDs go flying a few times.

 

I've had fly aways with my, now gone, C5 while the ctr console was still closed!! just slipped thru the cracks!!

 

It happened to me just this week. No checks, just gas receipts!

 

It was beautiful here today in S. Florida. My top has been down for days.

you could live in Southern CA.... median home price 500K! 1300 sq ft. 50 yr old home "needs loving tender care...."

and Ive had crap fly out of the coupe with top off not from center console but from rear cargo area... nice little vaccuum you get up there (thats my new excuse for thining hair!! - the vette's fault!

 

It can happen to us coupe drivers, too. One time in my C5 I had the top off and windows down. I nailed the gas on a off ramp between 2 highways, and pretty soon I was doing 100+ grabbing various papers that started to take off.

 

it might have been beautiful in fla but herein the northeast it was freezing with snow expected. but now i know why fla was hit by all those hurricanes to get fools like gringo out of the gene pool

 

We must be nuts to live in the Northeast.
Have a home also in Bonita Springs - will be full time in less than 6 years.

I guess from where I sit Gringo isnt the one fitting the fool bill...

 

I wish my nagging wife would fly away when I have the top down, so I could get a replacement...say how about someone like Angelina Jolie. Why good thing never happens to me?

 

You are so right! Top off coupe, windows down and floor it...sucks everything but the carpet out from the back, past you and into the windshield.

It's a rear eye opener when it happens!!!

 

That's how I lost my "shift into reverse" tag.

I was heading to a Charger gamea couple of weeks ago and had tickets in center console with topdown on freeway. ALMOST opened it and then though OH SHIAAAT NO DON'T DO IT!!!!! LOLOLOL Could have ben a $300 disaster and a lot of dissapointment!!! LOL GOOD REMINDER!!!!
