Went out for a drive last night, got about 2 miles from the house and the security light on the dash came on and stayed on. Its the yellow light next to the tach, it has a picture of a car with a pad lock beside it.
Anyway was wondering if this has happen to anyone else. The owners manual says that if the light stays on continuous then seek service. I have a 2005 C6 with auto. After I got back home I turned the car off and then back off and the light stayed off.
I plan to take the Vette in for service on Monday and have them check it out. Oh yea I did a search and could not find any info on this problem.
If anyone has any clue as to what might be causing this, your input would be appreciated. Just in case the mods move this thread I posted it in C6 Tech, but it does not look like that forum gets many hits.
where was your fob at the moment.. hasnt happened to me and havent heard of a similar case either - all I can think of is a) you accidentally hit the lock button or unlock button while fob was in pocket or b) it lost notion of where the fob was -not sure if either would trigger the security light just guesses

The fob was in my pocket and my wife left her fob at home. I guess I could have accidentally hit a button while it was in my pocket, interesting didn't really think of that.
I'd say it was some intermittant glitch that one of the computers thought it saw. Don't worry unless it reoccurs regularly. I used to get the occational light on my C5 (none on the C6 yet [insert knock on wood smilie]) and nothing ever came of them.
