I bought my Corvette as a pleasure car, it will probably never see a race track. Here in Central Florida we don't have very many (if any) real nice winding roads, it's pretty much just straight ahead driving.
I'd prefer an MN6 but but an old athletic injury left me with only 1/2 of my left calf muscle. In traffic I just can't keep the clutch in for long periods... Therefore it's an A4 or no Vette at all. I chose an A4 and am happy I did.
man6 because it's fun. but im one of those people that truly believe a sports car should be manual. Aren't NASCAR,Formula. etc cars manual?
Some are auto clutch-what is your deffination(sp) of manual?
My C5's were an auto and an mn6. I perfer mn6 but this Z51 was exactly what I wanted except for the auto. also more consistant 1/4 mile times with the a4.
Guess I'm in a rut, but I have only owned manuals although the C6 is my first 6 speed. Maybe I'll get an A6 next. Depends on reports from all of you market innovators out there.

Just driving around town, I like the auto.
Same reason for me. I drove both, Auto was the way to go. Stick turns out to be a killer in stop and go traffic situations.
We will be driving our car Vette around town and on long road trips. As much as I'd like a stick for the 'fun factor' it didn't outweigh the convenience of an automatic for the type of driving we will be doing.
Just curious as to why all you auto owners picked that over a manual, and vice versa. I have a 6speed because I just love to drive stick.
I picked the auto because I hate to shift and pumping that clutch in stop and go traffic. Not relaxing for me.
Stick shift is fine for me in my antiques and classics, All right for the drag strip but not in a modern road machine.
You ever drive on I 95 in Florida? Its stop and go half the time.
Or leave the state because a hurricane was coming? You won't survive the trip with a stick shift.
I prefer automatics for several reasons. 1. Fiancee cant drive a stick. 2. I love to cruise in town and like to have my hands free. 3. I like to run consistantly at the dragstrip. 4. GM has always had a problem with clutches that get hot and slip. No flames please. 5. I do believe resale is a little better with the automatic. Dont get me wrong I do like a stick shift and have an 01 Honda Civic EX that has a 5 speed and there is nothing wrong with them. I like them all/stick or automatic.
Automatic so my wife can drive it and so I don't have to worry about azzhats that pull up right on my bumper at a traffic light at the top of a hill here in town.
Had a manual, but traded it for an auto for the above reasons.
BTW, 60% of the 2005 Vettes were automatics, so for those few who think it takes a manual to be a sports car, think again.
I have both.. my vette is automatic and I have a old british "sportscar" a triumph tr6 that is manual and great to drive around in when I get the itch to shift.
But with 0-60 in first gear in the z06..i cant see that one would be shifting through the gears with the juices flowing too often.
I have an auto because I don't even know how to drive a manual. I don't even know when to shift the A6 so I have never used the paddles. There, I have admitted it. Go ahead beat me up.
