Well I've been raced by just about everyone driving just about anything. Today was a fabulous sunny crisp day for a cruise up here in the Pac North West. At around 2.30pm heading up the on ramp with 2 lanes of traffic this guy way back (who I know had seen me) driving a WRXti complete with stoopid bookshelf over the trunk lid cut up everyone inc me just to rocket ahead thru the heavy traffic and impress all of us. Needless to say I wasn't impressed and didn't take the bait either (why bother) but here's the next bit! At around 3.00pm I'm at a stop light minding my own business right at the front waiting for them to change with an elderly lady to my right driving an ageing Dodge Dynasty revving the motor like crazy. The lights change and granny takes off like a bat of hell and leaves me standing! I think I was too suprised to even attempt to catch her (not that I wanted to) and it might have been impolite to do so, respect and all that stuff. Anyway by the time I got into 3rd gear, she slowed down and turned right into the seniors mobile home park. No doubt she'll be telling this story to her friends in the community lounge club house for months, bragging of how she blew away a vette! God Bless Her.

Sometimes there's snow on the roof but fire down below! Maybe she had a ricer tune the old dodge up? She might just race to help with the S.S. checks? Anyway, you snooze you lose!!!!

You never know. When I was in high school (a loooong time ago) I was in my mechanic's shop for some work. He showed me a car he was working on for a 60+ year old lady. It was a small Packard that had a huge super charger under the hood. Hood down it look completely stock. He said she loved to surprise people at stop lights...
Looked like this 1958 Hawk:
