...in comparison, the Viper with the same "style" hood costs $14,000.
Which is why the hood on the '03 Viper was changed. Wonder what will happen with that $11,000 worth of savings...
Well actually, I've been hearing some sources claiming the '03 might be about 10k less than the current Snake.
But then again, I've also been hearing some "he said she said" stuff about how ecstatic the production team is about the Car's performance.
The New Viper's gonna be a good match-up for the C6, I can bet that much. After-all, the current one was designed body-first, then fit to match. The new one was designed performance first, so it'll be pretty interesting once we can compare the two side-by-side.
Well its not just how often you get in a wreck, its more like, less complicated piece to make and install on a car = less money and labor required to make piece = less expensive car.
When I showed my new C5 to a few guys I know, one of them commented on the construction. "Wow, this body looks very inexpensive to put together." He has a point.
The clamshell hood was trick, but not necessary. Besides, it required a seam along the side of the car. I prefer the clean look of C5's front fenders to the necessarily-busier look of the C4. I think it's a good tradeoff especially considering the cost.
