I have had a C4 & C5. I am disappointed with the quality of the sound system in the C5 versus the C4. I understand there are cost issues, and performance should come first, but cmon, you can't tell me that on a $45000 vehicle you had to downgrade the stereo. I hope the C6 has a little better stereo, and not identical to the one in my father-n-laws astro minivan. Just an opinion.
The stereo with Bose upgrade in the C5
leaves much to be desired for the $800+
they asked for it in my '00 FRC. Bose
spends a lot on marketing hype rather
than making a great product. For the C6,
they should mkae the base stereo easily
upgradeable in the aftermarket especially
if they are not going to provide a quality
factory upgrade option.
I had a new Sony head unit installed in the Z06 over the weekend. I stayed with the Bose speakers. I was shocked at the difference in sound. It is now clear and has a lot of bass and is loooooud. The head unit combined with the FRC partition makes listening to music in the Vette very enjoyable.

Do the speakers in a Z06 have integrated amplifiers? If not, it sounds like the amplification in the Sony is vastly improved in comparison with the Bose head unit.

This is what makes me mad about the Corvette Program. Dave Hill and his group go to all the major Corvette shows and talk to the owners and DON'T LISTEN to what the owners have to say. Ask any Corvette owner what the weakest link in the Corvette is and the answer you will get is Bose.
I think after 18 years they would get their heads out of the sand and give the Corvette a good sound system.
For the $800 they say it costs to install that system you could get a better one for less money at your local stereo store. :chevy :chevy :chevy
