It’s fading……..

10.5 months old and 4000 miles. The Corvette new car aroma is finally fading. Short of buying a new C6 is there any way to refresh it?

For some reason these new vehicles have different interior parts than the older cars and the factory has somehow eliminated some of the new car smell. If thats all we have to complain about we are doing good.

There's a product in a spray can, at some auto parts stores.
Or you could just mix some epoxy up inside the car.

I don't think he was complaining just an observation. I too love that smell.

When I was shopping recently I recall just how strong it was in new C6's I sat in. In a way IMO it is hypmotizing.

Find a way to put the original smell in a bottle and your're a rich man.

That great new car small has filled my large garage for the past few weeks since pickup at the NCM. There has been no need to get into the car, only step into the garage and inhale.

I wonder if the smell was so strong because the car was only 10 days out of the factory and had no time to air out in transit or on dealer lots.

One of the little advantages of NCM delivery.

Most parts stores and even WalMart sells air freshners that duplicate the awful plastic smell if you are serious about wanting to rejuvenate it.

Griot's Garage carries a product that will return the leather smell to the interior.A few drops on a small sponge hidden under the seat is good for several weeks. The new car smell is actually outgassing of toxic materials including formaldehyde, and forms that pesky film on the inside of the windows when the car is new.I always find the breathing of these fumes to be a good excuse for my abberant behavior while behind the wheel!

GM's new materials for the C6 interior are supposed to be healthier. Much like all things that we like they are "bad" for us. Can't think of a better way to go than in the cabin of my umteenth new vette!

Well, it's not exactly new car smell, but Zaino Z10 leather conditioner is as close to new car smell as I've ever found....

It's a good question. I keep mine covered in the garage to lock in the flavor. 6 months, 4k miles. Still smells fresh.
